The Peebles Three Bridges cross country races got the Borders Athletics season off to a good start with 30 entrants in the Youths race and 28 entrants in the Open race. An excellent crowd attend and the weather was first class. The Youths race over 1.5 mile saw last man away Ross Mathieson, Lasswade giving up to 2 minutes 15 seconds start, come storming through the field to take the first prize of £40 in 10min 19.61sec, from Lindsay Gordon, Lasswade and Scout Adkin, Peebles with 3 seconds covering the three of them. The Open race over 3 mile was dominated by Hazel Sutherland , Peebles who took the £100 first prize in 21 min 46 sec from a fast finishing Chris Russell ,Glenrothes and Ryan O`Hare, Edinburgh.
