At Kelso Border Games today it was waterproofs on then off and as the meeting came to a conclusion some sunshine. ☀️
That said the weather did not detract from what was an excellent meeting producing some fine finishes.
The Open 100m Final had 7 athletes finishing winning within 0.15 giving the judges a complete headache. After checking with the video technology it was Michelle Donnelly who emerged a narrow winner from Mhari Henderson.
A brilliant race and thanks to the athletes for producing a fine finish.
In the 200m Open it was an exuberant Dylan Murray who took the honours to add to his victory at Earlston. His coach J B Steede, Jedburgh was highly delighted with his victory.
The 800m saw Dean Whiteford coming back from injury to win from Colin Welsh.
Colin then went on to win the 1600m from Darrell Hastie from Matthew Fleming all from the Team Gray training school.
In the Youths events we must start with the 200m A Race which produced a really good finish with Finlay Douglas just getting the verdict from Sean McMichan.
Wow what a versatile athlete Aaron Glendinning is. This is an athlete of the future. He emerged victorious in the Youths B 100m and then the 1600m.
Samantha Dagg came clear to win the Youths A 100m.
Charlie Robbie was victorious in the Youths B 200m.
Rory McDonald was the winner in the Youths 800m.
Despite the weather a great days racing.
