What looked like a dismal weather forecast early in the week completely changed for Morebattle Border Games.
It was a fantastic afternoon to bring down the curtain on the Borders Athletics 2018 season.
Wow and what a season we have had. Sprint finals have had to be reviewed regularly using the photo finish technology.
Thank you Keith Simpson.
Not so today, as Corey Wilson emerged as the clear winner of the 110m sprint with Sophie Elder in second and Josh Abbott in third.
One of the main events today was the Youths Championship. It was a great race with Mia Pryde of Leithenburn emerging as the winner from the brothers, Ryan and Sean McMichan respectively.
The Senior 800m also produced a fantastic race with joint back markers going toe to toe with Kobe Stevens just getting the measure of Colin Welsh. Excellent running of 20m.
The meeting finished of with a well deserved presentation to Don and Margaret Campbell. Don is retiring as the Senior Handicapper for Borders Athletics.
Borders Athletics thanks Don and Margaret for all their help over many years and good wishes for the future.
