Oh how good it was to keep the waterproofs firmly in the backpack. St Ronan’s were blessed with an excellent afternoon weather wise plus a fantastic day of racing.
The main event of the day was the Open 100m sprint and it produced a great final with two TLJT training companions fighting out the finish with the evergreen Tommy Finkle just catching last years winner Nina Cessford with Graeme Armstrong in third.
The athlete of the day however was another TLJT athlete, Sarah Ross who completed the middle distance double winning both the 800m and 1600m. This earned Sarah the performance of the day. Sarah has been running consistently well recently having earned places in the 800m finals at CERF and Jedburgh.
The 200m final was dominated by the Ladies with Mhari Henderson taking the honours from the “ Turnbull twins “, Samantha and Natasha.
The first ever running of the Ladies Border Sprint Championship saw Jed winner Rianna Sterricks win from Emily Dagg.
The 100m Invitation was won by Scott Tindle from Emily Dagg and Rianna Sterricks.
The Leithenburn athletes under the guidance of John Motion had a great day in the Youths Races. Stefan Nightingale and Grace Turnbull emerged victorious in the 90m A and B races.
Keeley Womack was first in the 200m A race.
In the 200m B race it was Hawick Riverside Peds Connor McLeod who took the honours.
In the Youths 1600m Jason White was a clear winner.
